Google Maps integration for Homelingua

Visual for Homelingua website Google maps integration

Homelingua now has fully integrated Google maps. This pulls together all it's UK location information for prospective English language students thinking about where to study in the UK.

We've been working with Homelingua for some time now and their website's content has grown in many areas since we redesigned it 2 years ago. Over that time we've made a number of UI improvements and have now tackled the ever-expanding Locations section.

We've increased the flexibility to allow for a number of different location types and simplified it on the content management side using Drupal's taxonomy tagging system.

Geographic information is now displayed across the site based on proximity. If you are viewing a Teacher who lives near Windsor, the page will display information and links to locations of interest such as Windsor city, Windsor Castle, Eton College and maybe the Queen. As these are all within close geographic proximity to the Teacher.

Development notes

PE Design has been working in collaboration with Roberto Gerola at Speedtech throughout the redesign and subsequent updates to the Homelingua website. A number of custom modules have been written. We recently introduced support for the location module and geo-referenced every city, region, attraction and teacher to be able to present proximity based content.
